❤ What kind of "mother image" that I want to be remembered...

Confession time:
Previously this blog intended to be a weekly updated blog, but right after my baby's schedule became more predictable (about 4 months old), I started to resume with my long time (delayed) dream project <3<3<3 ... Since this project involved with other parties and needed waiting time to do some R&D, I also tried to set up an online shop (typical SAHM I say? Hmmm), and even agreed to join my long time dear friend to open another home bussines ...

This is why this blog was idle for a quite some time (last post was two months ago ::cough::), while there was 21 draft posts that haven't been finished, and lots of new ideas crossed my mind too.

Today, December 22nd is celebrated as Hari Ibu or "Mother's Day" in Indonesia (and we don't have father's day btw), and this post is a bit mother's day spirit...

Lately I've been wondering what will my child's (or children :/?) memory about her mother on her childhood?

Since I've been busy lately, I am afraid that her memory about me will be like this :

Word of the day is : Wait .... :'(

or this :
Whatsapp done, e-mail done, oh no... my tweet that linked to my facebook that link to my instagram that linked to path.. wait, where was I...??

❤ Breastfeeding Diary

I started a breastfeeding journal since day 1 using Philips Avent's Baby Feeding Diary book that I got for free from the Prenatal Class.

The Avent free diary's template

But after a few days using the diary, I created a diy-journal which I thought it will be easier and simpler way to record the baby daily schedule, not only for feeding, but also stool, and sleeping pattern.

❤ Baby competition vs stage mom syndrome

Yesterday was hungrybaby's first competition result.

We entered her in her first competition in her 6 months old of age. When she was 3.5 months old, she tried her first swim outside mommy's womb (she was swimming in there too, right?) ^^

Why we took her swimming? I read that it was a good activity for babies in strengthening and stimulating to improve their physical growth and mental development. And we got a voucher for swimming trial too ^o^, and surprisingly, hungrybaby loved it so much, she's moving very actively and didn't stop smiling.

Her first swim ^^ (and first"botak" haircut too)

❤ Baby friendly cosmetics {Notes from last post}

After receiving some precious feedbacks, I split this note that was embedded on the previous post, Growing Green babies, as this week's post :)

Having a baby makes me think more to have a safer environment for my precious bundle of joy. Having a close contact 24/7 with baby while breastfeeding, playing, giving affection and other daily activities, made me question, am I, myself is a safe "environment" for her?

I found some chemically harm sources that might be dangerous for baby from the cosmetics I use, they are :

☁ 10 drama cliché you won't find in parenting theme drama series

My first encounter with dorama or television drama series, as someone whose childhood was in Indonesia and in the eighties, was with this series (we only have 1 TV station, TVRI, at that time) :

Oshin, broadcasted in Japan in 1983-1984. Image is from here
The second wave of dorama was in the early nineties, when "Tokyo Love Story", "Ordinary People", "101st marriage proposal", and many other titles hit Indosiar, one of a private TV station. Another big hit was from Taiwan with "Meteor Garden" in year 2000.

Memorable OST from "101st marriage proposal", I re-watched the drama in 2012, and still good! :')

As time goes by  (*´ー`) ... actually when I found out that I was pregnant last year, I searched for parenting, education or family theme doramas, because sometimes it's inspired by true story, so it's not only entertaining, but also relevant to our life and we can learn something from it. Probably because it is more mature theme, I found less dorama cliche in them.

Here are the list of 10 drama cliché you won't find in parenting theme drama series :

10. Flashbacks
It is make sense to have flashbacks in a series, especially towards the ending of the episodes. How's the character met, how's the relationship developed, or how's  the sweet romance bloomed. We still can find flashbacks at parenting drama, but not as much or as early as episode 01, like I found in the "Rooftop Prince" series (─▽─)

9. Cry in the shower.. with clothes on (◎_◎;)

☁ Eco-nomical baby guide {Book review}

Complete title :
The Economical baby guide : down-to-earth ways for parents to save money and the planet
Author : Joy Hatch and Rebecca Kelley ; foreword by Josh Dorfman ; illustrations by Woolypear.
It was borrowed from Choa Chu Kang Public Library

As mentioned earlier, this is the book that convinced me to went with cloth diapering. Before I became a parent, I tried and learned as much as I can to be environmentally responsible, either at home or at my work as a designer. After I was pregnant and gave birth, it made me more amazed with God's creation and I was reminded once more to contribute to the environment. I realised having a baby would added more things to our home, more spending, and eventually more waste. But I was also hesitated since the word "eco" sometimes relate with more effort and more money :)

This book gave guides that the green issues is not just a gimmick, but green is practical even for us as a parent, and eco goes along with "nomical" : eco-nomical. The writer gave classification of spectrum of green parents :

♫ Burung hantu {The owl - Lullaby}

An article from guardian.co.uk said that parents should sing to their children every day to avoid language problems developing in later life.  The article's source,  Blythe, believes that singing to and, later, with a child is the most effective way to transform their ability to communicate.

"Children's response to live music is different from recorded music," she said. "Babies are particularly responsive when the music comes directly from the parent. Singing along with a parent is for the development of reciprocal communication."
